The main difference between doing this on Redhat distrobutions and other distro's is the location of binaries since mod_frontpage has a somewhat querky install process. If you locate the binaries and change the paths this should work with most linux distros. I have my own Apache builds so mine are a bit different here.

So Apache will need the override directive set to all and every user created with frontpage is irrelivent to unix users.
